Drink water, Gatorade, or Pedialyte. Drink several small servings all day.
Get rest and sleep. The more the better.
Bath with warm water to relax yourself.
Take an Advil (ibuprofen) for headache and body pain. You can also take antacid tablet if your tummy is rumbling.
Try to stay social and busy. One of the worst hangover feeling is you have bad mood. You don’t want to do anything. Pick up the phone and call friends and family. Work from home if you can. Go for a walk. Or walk the dog. Just do anything to stay social and stay busy.
Do not drive. Even if you feel fine, your mind might be tired and you might have difficulty focusing on road.
There is no special diet for hangovers. Just eat anything you like. You might feel sick and not feel like eating anything. But staying hungry delays hangover symptoms. Your body needs sugar, vitamins, and energy. So eat anything even if it is junk food.
Some people eat fruits (e.g. pears) to reduce symptoms of hangover. But this most likely is not useful. There is some research which says pears can help with hangover. But only if you eat them before drinking alcohol. And only if you eat a lot of them.
Hydration is most important. Drink anything you like. Water, Gatorade, or Pedialyte.
Fruit juices are also good to build back your potassium levels. Some people drink fruit juices to reduce symptoms of hangover. There is some research which says fruit juices (e.g. pear juice) help with hangover. But only if you drink it before drinking alcohol
These products basically have vitamins and minerals. There is no guaranty these products work. You don’t need these. Your hangover will go away anyways within few hours.
Do not drink more alcohol (hair of the dog thing).
Do not take Benadryl. Benadryl can make your hangover worse.
Do not smoke weed.
Do not take Vicodin.
